1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to everyone who uses Citewise AI, including the website, web application, free tools and API. It is provided by INCAA LLC, a Missouri limited liability company with its mailing address at 8301 State Line Rd, Ste 220-2254, Kansas City, MO 64114, United States and forms part of our Terms of Service. If something here conflicts with the Terms, the Terms apply.
2. What Citewise AI is for
Citewise AI is marketing analytics software. It sends prompts you define to third-party AI systems through their official APIs and reports whether brands are mentioned, in what order, and which sources are cited. It measures and reports. It does not generate content for publication, send messages to anyone, sell advertising or placements, or influence what AI systems say.
3. Prohibited uses
You may not use Citewise AI to:
- Break the law: any activity that is illegal where you or we operate, including fraud, sanctions violations or infringing intellectual property rights;
- Send spam: build lists for, or support, unsolicited bulk messages, fake reviews or other deceptive marketing;
- Abuse the free tools or the API: scan or crawl systems you are not authorized to test, send automated high-volume requests, scrape the Service, or work around rate limits and credit accounting;
- Request harmful content: write prompts designed to make AI systems produce unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexual, violent or defamatory content, or content that breaks the AI providers' usage policies;
- Make misleading claims: present Citewise AI results as an endorsement by OpenAI, Google, Perplexity AI or Anthropic, alter results before sharing them, or promise anyone rankings or recommendations by AI systems based on our reports;
- Collect personal data: put personal data about private individuals into prompts, or use the Service to profile or track people;
- Attack the Service: probe, scan or breach our systems, access other customers' data, or interfere with the Service's operation;
- Game the offer: open multiple accounts to collect extra free credits, or resell raw access to the Service as a standalone product. Agencies may use the Service for their own clients and share reports with them.
4. AI provider policies
Prompts are sent to third-party AI providers, so their usage policies also apply to what you ask. Do not submit prompts that those policies prohibit. We may block prompts or engines when needed to comply with them.
5. Enforcement
We may warn you, block specific prompts or projects, limit API access, or suspend or close an account that breaks this policy. Where practical, we contact you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. Serious or repeated violations may lead to immediate suspension. Refunds after an account is closed for a violation follow the Refund Policy and the Terms.
6. Reporting misuse
If you believe someone is misusing Citewise AI, email [email protected] with the subject "Abuse report" and any details you have, or use our contact page. Security issues can be reported the same way; see our security page.
7. Changes
We may update this policy as the Service and the law change. The "Last updated" date shows the current version. For material changes we notify customers by email or in the app.
